What can be placed in general waste bins?

The general waste bin can be used for household items such as clothes, paper, cardboard, bedding, towels and kitchenware. You can also place office furniture like desks and chairs in the general waste bin.
For larger pieces of furniture and appliances like cupboards or fridges you can also place them in the general waste bin.
Other types of light green waste like shrubs , grass , leaves and construction debris wood , flooring and wallpaper are also accepted .

What can't go in the general waste skip bin?

Skip bins that are for general waste only and cannot be used for the disposal of heavy or hazardous materials. Hard heavy materials such as bricks, sand, concrete, tiles, clay, stones cannot be placed in the general waste bin. Soil or soil with turf attached – a soil-dirt bin is required for this waste must not be placed in this bin. Palm tree trunks, tree trunks, roots or turf – a soil dirt bin is required for this waste must not be placed in this bin. Synthetic grass cannot be placed in the general waste bin. Hazardous materials that must not be placed in this bin include: asbestos, insulation, food, wet paint, empty chemical containers, liquids or putrescibles.
